Creator Economy

RPM (Revenue per Mille)

RPM (revenue per mille) is how much a creator earns per 1,000 views after the platform's cut — total earnings divided by views, times 1,000.

Formula
RPM = (Total earnings ÷ Total views) × 1,000

RPM is the number creators actually take home per thousand views. Unlike CPM (an advertiser-side cost before the platform's share), RPM already reflects revenue split, unmonetized views, and all income sources blended together.

On YouTube, RPM commonly lands in the $1–$5 range but swings hugely by niche and audience country; TikTok's Creator Rewards pays far less per view. Multiply your RPM by expected views to estimate earnings.
